Gléresse Monolith

Gléresse

Built with Soleure stone recovered from a demolition, the dry stone monolith was built for the 2013 and 2014 art exhibit that takes place each year in the Solothurn Capuchin monastery.

Our creation was located in this vast garden, previously used as a vegetable garden, for two years.

In the autumn of 2014, the wine-producers/wine-makers of “Schlössli Weingut,” from Gléresse moved the construction and installed it at the foot of their vineyards.

Placed between the reeds along the shore of Lake Bienne and the first row of Chasselas vines, the monolith does justice to the symbiosis of the two arts - the art of building with dry stone and the art of cultivating vines for excellent wines
